BMW is all set to introduce its latest models – the 2024 X5 and X6, including new M variants – at the much-awaited Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance event in Florida. This world-renowned event attracts car collectors and enthusiasts from around the globe and is scheduled to take place from March 3-5 at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island.
The new 2024 X5 and X6 models boast a fresh exterior styling that brings a crisp and characterful new look to the X5 Sports Activity Vehicle and X6 Sports Activity Coupe. The interior is spacious and contemporary, featuring the BMW Curved Display powered by BMW iDrive 8 as the centerpiece.
The highlight of the new models is the electrified powertrains, including a reengineered X5 xDrive50e plug-in hybrid that has an increased electric range and almost 100 additional horsepower. Additionally, the X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition are the first BMW M vehicles to feature 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
At the event, visitors will get the opportunity to witness some iconic vehicles from BMW’s history, including the 1960 BMW 507 Roadster. The 507 Sport Series II, chassis number 70240, is the only 507 designated as a 1960 model and was the very last 507 to leave the Munich plant.
The historic 3.0 CSL ‘Batmobile’ race car will also be on display, which is regarded as the first race car produced by the then-new BMW Motorsports. One of nineteen original racing CSLs produced, this car, chassis number 997, was the fourth CSL race car built and has an extensive race history both in Europe and North America.
Apart from these, visitors will also get to see the BMW.Williams FW22-02 Formula One car driven by honoree Jeff Gordon, who will also be showcasing his Championship winning #24 NASCAR car at the event.
The new 2024 X5 and X6 models promise to take the car world by storm with their impressive features and capabilities. Car collectors and enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance event to witness the world premiere of these stunning new models.
