Over the years playing with muscle cars, and doing muscle car restoration, I have realized the power that they have to bring people together, this all started when I was a kid out dragging the boulevard looking for a race in my camaro, all of the gear heads would gather in a parking lot and show off their cars.

Off this sprung the idea of car shows, and all of the car you see at the shows have undergone a restoration, if you’ve ever been to t a car show, you’ve seen how they bring people together, some things will never change, a muscle car restoration is a great way to make some family fun.

When you decide to do a restoration it is a huge undertaking, but it can make months of fun for your family if you get them involved in the process, yes they will whine at the first, but once they get involved they will develop a true and genuine interest in the project.

A muscle car restoration is fun from the start to the finish of the project, and you’ll learn a lot about the car, if you always look forward to the finished product you’ll have the motivation that you need to finish the project.

You can go as far as asking your family what they’d like to do on the car and assign them those tasks, if you have pride in the car that your restoring it will most likely come out looking very good in the end, don’t be depressed if you don’t win the first show you take it to.

During the process you will have problems with finding some of the parts that you’ll need, and you may even have problems with some of the processes of the restoration, most shops are glad to do partial work, so the thi9ngs that you don’t know, let a shop who does know do it.

There is a lot of excitement involved in one of these restoration projects, be sure not to let that dictate the speed that you perform the work at, these projects are never fast, so if you like to do things at the speed of light, this may not be for you.

A muscle car restoration will most likely look the best if you have put the time in to make it look good, have you ever heard the saying you can’t rush perfection, this saying rings true when your talking about a restoration project.

Do yourself the favor of not thinking that you’ll pull the car in your garage today, and be out on the road with it next week, perfection takes time, and it takes a lot of it so don’t let anything, or anybody make you rush this project.

I have seen to many projects go by the wayside because somebody got in a hurry and screwed the projects up, always look forward to the time when the project will be complete, but never rush to get there, I have had a lot of fun over the years wit these cars.

Yes use it to bring the family all together with a common goal, a goal to create the car for your dreams, believe me they will get excited about it, it may not be at the first, but it will happen, yes even the ladies of the family will have fun doing a muscle car restoration.
